Please note that this is an open book exam. You are allowed to use a calculator, course textbook (Kasap), (posted or your personal) homework solutions, lecture slides and your personal notes. NO OTHER MATERIAL IS ALLOWED DURING THE EXAM. For those using soft copies of the above mentioned course material, you need to turn of your wireless access or put your equipment to flight mode. This policy will be strictly enforced.

2- HW-6.

I grade your exams. Ravipa grades your HWs. Please send an e-mail to her (rlosakul@ucsc.edu) if you want to learn your HW-1 grades. I requested her to add your grades on your solutions. Hopefully, this will not be an issue again. 

Please note that we covered almost all of the subjects that is covered in HW-3. You can start working on it now. We will complete the fiber optics on Thursday. 

I appreciate those who routinely attend classes and return their HWs. Please continue to do so. Most difficult part of the course is almost over. 

For those who you stop following the lectures, I hope that you are following the course material and returning your HW solutions. Please try to catch up the class as soon as before the midterm next week. If you need help, please come to my office hours or arrange meeting..

MIDTERM: 

1- Please note that the midterm will be held on November 8th in class time in our classroom. We took this decision in our class on Tuesday (October 23). 

2- Your TA (Cassidy Berk) is going to hold a review session on November 1st. The location and time:  Jack Baskin Rm #372, Nov. 1 from 7-10PM.

3- Please note that the above information is also posted to your course website. 

4- DRC student: Please send me your paperwork asap. I need to make arrangement ahead of time. Please do not leave this to the last minute. 


ASSIGNMENTS: 

1- If you have not been attending the lectures during the last week, I strongly encourage you to watch the webcast recordings and read the following sections before our class on Tuesday: Chapter 2.1, 2.2 and  2.3.

2- Please also note that we will be finishing Chapter 2.4, 2.5 and 2.6 in our lecture on Tuesday (lecture-10). Please read these sections before our class. 


HOMEWORK: I have send an announcement about your HW-2 on October 24. I want to remind you that HW-2 is due in class on Tuesday. I only accept hard copies of your solutions.
